Lee is a Qualifying Art Psychotherapist with six years of experience practicing art psychotherapy and will be graduating in the new year. She is also an Ontario Certified Teacher, having taught for several years before raising her family and pursuing her qualifications in art psychotherapy. Throughout her career, Lee has worn many hats—including personal support worker, developmental service worker, child and youth worker, and medical foster parent—giving her extensive experience supporting individuals with special needs as young as four years old.
Lee’s therapeutic approach is person-centred and eclectic, drawing from a range of modalities tailored to each individual. She integrates creativity and sand tray therapy with evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and psychoeducation.
Art Psychotherapy can be helpful for a wide range of mental health challenges, including (but not limited to) complex trauma (CPTSD), anxiety, depression, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, social anxiety, neurodivergence, and other mental health diagnoses.
Lee emphasizes that no artistic experience is required to benefit from art psychotherapy—only an open mind and a willingness to engage creatively. Because she is client-centred, sessions may involve traditional talk therapy, art psychotherapy, sand tray therapy, or a combination of these approaches, depending on each client’s needs and preferences.
Warm, creative, and inclusive, Lee welcomes individuals of all backgrounds. Her bright, inviting studio provides a safe space for self-expression, discovery, and healing—encouraging every person to explore their growth through creativity.
With the right support, you can rebuild trust in yourself, strengthen your relationships, and find calm again. This could be the start of something truly life-changing.
